BJP national president Nitin Nabin on Monday said in Aranthangi that it was time for the electorate of Tamil Nadu to usher in a double engine NDA government in the State to bring about development and ensure a safe and secure atmosphere for all sections of the society.

The ruling DMK government should be voted out of power as it had failed to fulfill the promises it had made including generation of employment for the youth and for “betraying” the people of Tamil Nadu, Mr. Nabin said.

“While all other States in the country are working closely with the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre in devising strategies to achieve growth and development, people of Tamil Nadu were unfortunate that they were being governed by the DMK government which was the most corrupt regime”, Mr. Nabin charged.

Speaking at a public meeting in Aranthangi and canvassing for the BJP nominees contesting in Aranthangi, Pudukottai, and Gandharvakottai (SC) Assembly constituencies in Pudukottai district, Mr. Nabin claimed that the central schemes meant for the poor sections had not reached them. They were still unable to get potable drinking water supplied through pipes despite huge amount of funds having been allocated to the State government by the Centre under the ‘Nal Ka Jal’ scheme, Mr. Nabin said.
