The Samajwadi Party (SP) will hold town hall meetings under the Vision India initiative in various Uttar Pradesh cities, including Ghaziabad, Agra, Noida, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Kanpur, and Jhansi, to promote its development agenda and to engage various sections of society.
The meetings to be addressed by the party president, Akhilesh Yadav, aim to create a consensus on the development agenda ahead of the Assembly elections in the State.
The meetings were held in recent months at major centres outside U.P., such as Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Bhubaneswar, Mumbai, and Jaipur. Mr. Yadav and other party leaders highlighted a national vision outlining strategies and policies across multiple themes. The last meeting took place in Jaipur on April 11 and was titled the “Harmonious Heritage Summit,” part of the Vision India initiative.
“The vision of the Samajwadi Party for modern India is one of inclusive and sustainable development, in which social justice and economic upliftment for all are ensured. The themes have been startups, artificial intelligence, holistic health, quality education, and harmonious heritage. In the future, we will shift these meetings to U.P. in cities like Ghaziabad, Agra, Noida, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Kanpur, and Jhansi. Different themes will be chosen for different cities,” said Alok Ranjan, a former U.P. Chief Secretary and close confidant of the SP president.
