With the restoration of suburban services, Chennai Metro Rail’s spike in ridership has seen a decline in recent times.
On February 20, Southern Railway decreased the suburban train services on the Beach-Tambaram-Chengalpattu section, which resulted in a surge in Chennai Metro Rail’s ridership.
But since Southern Railway has restored the services and full-day operations, the Chennai Metro Rail has been witnessing a gradual dip in the ridership.
The term-break or study holidays for college and school students have also contributed to the reduction in ridership.
