April 10 (UPI) -- \Top-notch turf racing, including a Godolphin raid at Keeneland, helps fill up the schedule as we count down the weeks to the 152nd Kentucky Derby on May 2.

Oaklawn Park chips in a competitive edition of the Apple Blossom, and on the global front, Japan kicks off it's Classics season with the Oka Sho or Japanese 1,000 Guineas.

The Road to the Roses

Saturday's $400,000 Stonestreet Lexington at Keeneland is the final stop on the Road to the Kentucky Derby, but that actual journey effectively came to an early end last weekend.

The Lexington offers 20 points to the winner, and barring an unusually huge number of defections from the Derby field, that wouldn't be enough to boost any of the 11 3-year-olds into the maximum 20-horse Derby.
