A fire was reported at Terminal 1 of Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSMIA) around 6:00 p.m. on Thursday (April 9, 2026) in Mumbai.
According to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the fire confined to the ground floor of a ground-plus-three floored structure at the airport at Vile Parle (East).
The fire was brought under controlled within a few minutes. “The minor fire was reported at Terminal 1 due to a short circuit at 18:10 p.m. The fire was immediately bought under control by the emergency response teams within minutes. Airport operations remain unaffected,” said CSMIA spokesperson.
The Fire Brigade stated that it was a level 1 fire at 7:05 p.m., with no injuries reported so far.
