April 7 (UPI) -- United States National Team striker Patrick Agyemang will miss the 2026 World Cup due to a serious Achilles tendon injury, Derby County announced Tuesday.
Agyemang was hurt during the first half of the Rams' 2-0 win over Stoke City on Monday in Derby, England. He did not play in the second half.
"The club will provide Patrick with the highest level of medical care and rehabilitation throughout his recovery," the Rams said.
"Everyone at Derby County is fully behind Patrick at this difficult time and will continue to support him every step of the way."
The Rams did not provide a timeline for Agyemang's potential return. They sit in eighth place in the Championship standings.
