The Hotel and Restaurants Association of Andhra Pradesh (HRAAP) Inter Hotels Cricket League 2026 commenced at the Indira Priyadarshini GVMC Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.

The event brought together guests and members of the hospitality industry, celebrating sportsmanship and fostering professional camaraderie.

City Police Commissioner Shankhabrata Bagchi inaugurated the tournament. G. Venkata Krishna, Joint Managing Director of Daspalla Hotels and Vice-President of the A. P. Star Hotels Association, attended as the guest of honour.

Marking World Health Day, Mr. Bagchi highlighted the importance of physical fitness and sports in maintaining a balanced lifestyle. He appreciated HRAAP for initiating an event that promotes well-being while strengthening unity and team spirit among hospitality professionals.

The inaugural ceremony was led by HRAAP president M. V. Pavan Kartheek. He said that 19 hotel teams are participating in this year’s league. The opening match featured Daspalla Hotel and Meghalaya Hotel. Mr. Bagchi bowled the ceremonial first ball to formally inaugurate the match.
