NEW YORK : ‌An individual contracted to provide services ​to the World Health Organization in Gaza was killed on Monday during ‌a security ‌incident, ​the ‌agency’s ⁠director-General Tedros ​Adhanom Ghebreyesus ⁠said in a post on X.

“Following the incident, ⁠WHO suspended today’s ‌medical evacuation ‌of ​patients ‌from Gaza ‌via Rafah to Egypt. Medical evacuations will remain suspended ‌until further notice,” Tedros said.

Two WHO ⁠staff ⁠members were present but were not injured, Tedros said, without specifying details about the incident.
