RIYADH: Damage assessment was ongoing early Tuesday as Saudi Arabia said debris from intercepted ballistic missiles had fallen on energy facilities.

The Kingdom’s defense ministry announced 11 ballistic missiles that were fired toward the Eastern Province had been intercepted, in posts on social media.

The ministry did not say which energy facilities were being assessed.

Iran has been firing missiles and drones at the Kingdom and other Arab Gulf countries ever since Israel and the US launched military attacks on Iran on Feb. 28.
