Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Monday met Lieutenant-Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu to review issues related to the supply of cooking gas and the government’s summer action plan, according to a post by Lok Niwas Delhi on X.

Ms. Gupta shared information on close monitoring of LPG supply chains to ensure timely availability in the city, along with expansion of petroleum and natural gas infrastructure to address shortages and curb black marketing. The L-G emphasised the need to closely monitor LPG supply and expand PNG infrastructure to curb black marketing, said an official.

Mr. Sandhu reviewed preparations for heatwaves and ensuring adequate drinking water supply. Preparations for the monsoon, with a focus on preventing urban flooding and timely completion of desilting works were also discussed, the official said.

Meanwhile, the CPI(M) wrote to the CM highlighting the impact of LPG shortage on labourers. In a letter, CPI(M) Delhi secretary Anurag Saxena stated that a majority of the working class, especially labourers, did not have LPG connections and were dependent on refilling shops, where prices had risen sharply. “Concurrently, food prices have skyrocketed across all establishments,” he wrote.
