April 6 (UPI) -- New Jersey State Police troopers came to the rescue of an orphaned or abandoned black bear cub found in a ditch at the side of a busy highway.
The State Police said on social media that personnel from Troop B Perryville Station received an "unusual call" last week about "a lone bear cub spotted in a roadside ditch."
The bear was located at the side of Interstate 78 East at milepost 12.2 in Union Township.
