JERUSALEM/BEIRUT/DUBAI: An Iranian missile strike wounded one person in central Israel on Saturday, medics said, as exchanges between Tehran and its adversaries intensified across multiple fronts in an expanding regional war.

Israel’s Magen David Adom said a 45-year-old man was treated for minor injuries caused by glass shrapnel in the city of Bnei Brak and taken to hospital.

The Israeli military said its air defense systems were intercepting incoming missiles fired from Iran. “Defensive systems are operating to intercept the threat,” it said in a statement on Telegram, adding later that civilians were cleared to leave protected areas as search and rescue teams were deployed to reported impact sites.

The latest barrage comes amid ongoing missile exchanges between Iran and Israel following a US-Israeli bombing campaign launched in late February that killed Iran’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei and triggered a broader regional conflict.

Beyond Israel, the violence spread further on Saturday.
