One of two crew members of a U.S. fighter jet that was shot down in Iran on Friday has been rescued, according to multiple reports.

A search and rescue effort is currently underway for the second crew member, whose current status is currently unknown, a congressional staffer told HuffPost.

Iranian state media outlet Tasnim News Agency said the search for the missing crew had “so far been unsuccessful” earlier in the day. Another Iranian outlet, the Fars news agency, said a reward is being offered for anyone capturing an “enemy pilot or pilots.”

A second Air Force combat plane also reportedly crashed in the Persian Gulf region on Friday. The lone pilot of an A-10 Warthog attack plane that went down near the Strait of Hormuz was safely rescued, two U.S. officials told The New York Times.

The Pentagon and White House have not yet commented on the downed aircrafts. While it’s unclear what type of jet was struck down in Iran, the country’s state media published photos that appear to show parts of a U.S. Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle.
