April 2 (UPI) -- Tony- and Pulitzer Prize-winning Hamilton writer and composer Lin-Manuel Miranda is set to direct the film adaptation of Dave Malloy's chamber choir musical about Internet addiction, Octet.
Miranda's 5000 Broadway Productions announced the project Thursday.
This will be the first film Miranda helms since 2021's tick, tick...Boom!, an adaptation of Jonathan Larson's semi-autobiographical musical.
Julie Oh, who was a producer on tick, tick...Boom!, is now head of film and television for Miranda's production company and will serve as a producer on Octet.
