Journalist In Iraq?Journalist Shelly Kittleson, a U.S. citizen, was kidnapped in Baghdad on Tuesday. In a statement on X, Assistant Secretary of State Dylan Johnson said the State Department was aware of the kidnapping and added: “The State Department previously fulfilled our duty to warn this individual of threats against them and we will continue to coordinate with the FBI to ensure their release as quickly as possible. An individual with ties to the Iranian-aligned militia group Kataib Hizballah believed to be involved in the kidnapping, has been taken into custody by Iraqi authorities.”TangentThe embassy’s warning that the imminent attacks may target U.S. entities or those “perceived to be associated with the United States,” comes a day after Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps outlined a list of targets that included U.S. tech companies in the Middle East. The list published on an IRGC affiliated Telegram group mentioned the names of 18 tech companies and described them as “legitimate targets” of its retaliatory campaign amid U.S. strikes on Iran. The list included the likes of Google, Microsoft, Apple and Nvidia.
