At least 102 parents of students at Delhi Public School, Dwarka, have filed a contempt petition with the Delhi High Court, alleging that the school has violated its 2025 order by issuing strike-off notices to parents for non-payment of “unapproved fees”. The matter is listed for hearing on Thursday.

On Monday, the school issued notices to at least 25 parents stating that their children’s names would be struck off on April 7 over pending fees, and asked them to obtain clearances from the administrative and accounts departments.

In their petition filed on March 31, the parents maintained that they were complying with the High Court’s directions and the Directorate of Education (DoE) order, both of which had rejected the school’s fee hike proposal for 2023-2024. The parents also staged a protest outside the school on Wednesday.

The parents stated in their collective petition that the court, in its May 2025 order, had said that any “discrimination and victimisation of students on the ground of non-payment of hiked fees cannot be countenanced”.

The court had directed that the students be allowed to continue their studies in their respective classes, subject to parents depositing 50% of the hiked fees. It also stated that the fees would be recalculated after “adjusting excess fee” for 2023-2024.
