MOSCOW, April 1. /TASS/. Moscow always supports what benefits the Armenian people, Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed at a meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

The president expressed hope that local political processes in Armenia amid the election campaign would not harm relations between the two countries and that pro-Russian political forces would be able to participate in the elections.

TASS has compiled the key statements by the head of state.

Russia and Armenia are linked by a shared history and even civilizational commonality, Putin said.

"Russia and Armenia have special relations that were formed not over decades but over centuries. We are united by a common history and by solving common tasks together in the past. We are also united by a civilizational commonality — this is extremely important," he said.
