MOSCOW, April 1. /TASS/. Having lost hope for Russia's defeat, the West has turned increasingly to acts of terror targeting civilians and prominent government officials, the Deputy Secretary of the Russian Security Council, Yury Kokov, said an interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta.

"Now, as the West's hopes for achieving a strategic victory over Russia through Ukrainian proxies diminish with each passing day of conflict, they have abandoned all principles - morality and ethics alike," Kokov stated. "They have embarked on a path of outright terror against the civilian populations of Russian regions, targeting infrastructure, government officials, and public figures."

He further suggested that the Anglo-Saxons, reluctant to engage in direct military conflict with Russia or China, are deliberately cultivating controlled forces near our borders - arming and deploying them for their own strategic aims. "Ukraine was also being prepared for this scenario after neo-Nazis and Russophobes seized power, transforming the country into a hub of global Nazism and terrorism at the expense of its own people," Kokov asserted. "Meanwhile, the Western community, while publicly condemning fascism, tacitly supports the criminal regime in Ukraine, which is committing genocide against the Russian population. Such duplicity is characteristic of their true nature."
