President Donald Trump on Tuesday again criticized European allies for their refusal to assist in the Iran war, arguing they should “go get your own oil” from the Strait of Hormuz or buy from the U.S. as global oil and fuel supplies have become strained during the conflict.
Trump, in a pair of Truth Social posts, wrote that countries vying for jet fuel supply that refused to “get involved in the decapitation of Iran,” should buy from the U.S. or “build up some delayed courage, go to the [Strait of Hormuz], and just TAKE IT.”
The Strait of Hormuz, through which roughly one-fifth of the global oil supply flows, has been almost completely shut by Iran since the U.S. and Israel launched strikes on the country in late February.
