At least eight people have been killed following a stampede that took place at the Sheetla Mata Temple in Bihar’s Nalanda district on Tuesday (March 31, 2026). The death toll is expected to rise further.

Bihar Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, who is also government in-charge of Nalanda Districts, has confirmed the death of at least eight people in the tragedy.
The district administration has now closed the temple to tackle the situation.
