RIYADH: Spring rains sweeping across Saudi Arabia have turned desert expanses green and filled mountain valleys with mist and waterfalls, drawing crowds outdoors to enjoy a rare seasonal transformation, according to separate reports by the Saudi Press Agency documenting the impact of the rains across multiple regions.

In the southwestern Al-Baha Region, showers blanketed mountains and forests in fog, sending waterfalls cascading down rocky cliffs as temperatures dipped below 10°C. The rains have revived vegetation and boosted the region’s appeal as a summer tourism destination.

Visitors, many of them photographers, gathered during the Eid Al-Fitr holiday to capture sweeping views of cloud-covered peaks and rain-fed greenery.

In the central Qassim Region, rainfall has compacted sand dunes and formed shallow pools, creating ideal conditions for off-road driving, camping and other outdoor pursuits. Near Buraidah, groups of young people have flocked to the desert, gathering around campfires in cooler evening air.
