The online counselling process for the recruitment of medical officers, to be deputed in primary health centres across the State, will begin on Monday, Minister for Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare Satya Kumar Yadav said.

In a statement on Sunday (March 29), the Minister said candidates selected for 611 civil assistant surgeon (CAS) posts, also referred to as medical officers, will be given posting orders through an online counselling process, which will begin on March 30. The whole process will be completed within 34 hours.

The previous process was lengthy and required large-scale logistical arrangements, the Minister said, adding that the new digital system is more candidate-friendly and also ensures a transparent system.

Candidates must select preferences in order of priority for all the posts, which will be announced hospital-wise. There is no limit on the number of options they can provide. Therefore, candidates should be careful while submitting their preferences, according to the press release.

Options will be collected from candidates for the 611 medical officer posts between 11 a.m. on Monday and 6 p.m. on Tuesday. Within 2–3 hours after that, posting orders with the hospital names will be automatically sent to the registered email IDs of candidates.
