Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Sunday (March 29, 2026) said Prime Minister Narendra Modi's mention of the "inspiring" water conservation efforts of farmers in Korea district during his 132nd "Mann Ki Baat" episode was a matter of immense pride for the State.

Mr. Sai, who listened to the broadcast at his official residence, noted that the indigenous 'Aawa Pani Jhonki' model has become a national benchmark for grassroots innovation.

Talking to reporters after the programme, the Chief Minister said people across the country eagerly wait for every episode of "Mann Ki Baat", which showcases innovations and positive initiatives from different parts of India.

He said that Mr. Modi mentioned Korea district, where farmers are conserving water through an innovative model called 'Aawa Pani Jhonki', by building recharge ponds and soak pits in their fields to collect rainwater.

Mr. Sai pointed out that more than 1,200 farmers have developed over 2,000 such structures, significantly improving groundwater levels in the area.
