Three persons were arrested on Saturday, March 28, 2026, for manufacturing and selling adulterated food products, including mixture and Osmania biscuits in Mailardevpally.

The accused were identified as Munnir Arun Kumar, 34, Vundyala Masthan Reddy, 46, and Vishal Jain, 41, all of whom were operating separate food units in Babul Reddy Nagar and Laxmiguda. Police registered three cases under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and took them into custody following coordinated raids.

According to the police, the operation was carried out on Saturday (March 28) after receiving credible information about the preparation of adulterated food items in unhygienic conditions. Teams from Mailardevpally police, along with the H-FAST unit, raided multiple premises and found the accused manufacturing snacks without adhering to food safety regulations. Officials said chemicals and artificial colouring agents were being used in the preparation process, posing potential health risks to consumers.

Investigations revealed that Arun Kumar was running a unit under the name Arun Kumar Foods, while Masthan Reddy operated Anjani Foods, producing items such as Osmania biscuits and chikkis. Vishal Jain was found manufacturing namkeen and mixture under Jain Foods. The products were supplied to local shops across Hyderabad.
