Tom Pidcock has won cross-country mountain bike gold at the past two Olympics
Briton Tom Pidcock has pulled out of the Volta a Catalunya after a "horror" fall down a ravine.
The Pinarello-Q36.5 rider went off the road after misjudging a corner late in stage five on Friday.
He finished more than 29 minutes behind winner Jonas Vingegaard on the 153.1km stage from La Seu d'Urgell to La Molina/Coll de Pal.
"I was drinking on the descent and misjudged a corner," Pidcock said.
