Christopher Jackson, who played George Washington in the original cast of the Broadway musical hit “Hamilton,” made the wrong kind of history on opening day Thursday for the New York Mets.
He forgot the words and repeated a verse while singing the national anthem at Citi Field.
Jackson omitted “O’er the ramparts we watched” and re-sang “What so proudly we hailed” before getting back on course.
Viewer reaction ranged from understanding to complimentary to harsh to accusatory.
Another lightly made fun of the star.
