Artificial Intelligence (AI) holds immense potential to enhance human creativity, said Professor J. Ranganathan, Honorary Consul for Myanmar.
Speaking at the international seminar on ‘Digital Dreamscapes: Youth Navigating AI, Creativity and Virtual Expression’, which was jointly organised by the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, and Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) at its campus here, Mr. Ranganathan said that AI is not merely a technical tool but a powerful enabler that can amplify creative expression.
“Artificial intelligence does not diminish creativity. Instead, it offers tremendous opportunities to enhance it. In today’s fast-paced digital environment, where information spreads instantly, students should approach innovation with awareness and responsibility. He encouraged them to cultivate adaptability, continuous learning, and interdisciplinary collaboration. “Young minds should not restrict their creativity to narrow boundaries but explore it expansively. While the digital world provides countless templates and algorithms, authenticity remains students’ greatest asset,” he said.
The seminar also featured addresses by distinguished international speakers, including Philip Ross Hull, Director, International Student Services at Central Missouri University, USA; Professor Rajagopal Gururajan from the University of Southern Queensland, Australia; and Associate Professor Raj Srinivasan from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada. Sankar Viswanathan, vice-president, VIT, was present on the occasion.
