March 27 (UPI) -- They Will Kill You, a new comedy horror film starring Zazie Beetz, opens in theaters Friday.
The movie follows Asia Reaves (Beetz), an ex-convict who responds to an ad for a housekeeper at a mysterious New York City high-rise apartment building.
Directed by Kirill Sokolov and co-starring Myha'la, Paterson Joseph, Tom Felton, Heather Graham and Patricia Arquette, They Will Kill You is the latest horror entry to feature a Black female lead, a demographic historically underrepresented in the genre. Here is a list of five others:
