OK, So, Bill Maher Is Getting The Mark Twain PrizeComedian Bill Maher is set to receive the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor in June at the Kennedy Center after the White House initially denied he would."For nearly three decades, the Mark Twain Prize has celebrated some of the greatest minds in comedy," said Roma Daravi, vice president of public relations for the Kennedy Center, said in a news release. "For even longer, Bill has been influencing American discourse – one politically incorrect joke at a time."The Thursday announcement comes just six days after Karoline Leavitt, White House press secretary, told The Atlantic that news of Maher receiving the award was "fake news."Maher's award ceremony will be the last event at the Kennedy Center before it closes for two years for renovations.
