DUBAI: Two people were killed and three injured when debris from an intercepted missile fell on a road in Abu Dhabi on Thursday.
The two killed were Pakistani and Indian and the injured were Emirati, Jordanian and Indian, Abu Dhabi Media Office said. Their injuries ranged from "serious to moderate."
The ballistic missile was shot down by UAE air defenses with the shrapnel falling on Sweihan Street, the statement said. A number of cars were damaged.
The UAE, along with other Arab Gulf countries, has been attacked daily by Iranian missiles and drones since the war between Iran, the US and Israel started on February 28.
Attacks have targeted the main airports in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, energy infrastructure and prominent landmarks.
