Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday (March 26, 2026) attacked the BJP governments at the Centre and in Uttar Pradesh, alleging that they failed to address inflation, unemployment and key governance challenges and instead relied on "propaganda" and "event-based politics".

Talking to mediapersons, Mr. Yadav said that under the BJP rule, people are "standing in queues for basic needs", such as cooking gas.

Questioning the government's preparedness in dealing with rising costs and supply issues, he alleged that changes in LPG cylinder supply were not matched with adequate production planning.
