Dileshwar Kamait, leader of the Janata Dal (United) in the Lok Sabha, has submitted a notice to Speaker Om Birla seeking the disqualification of party MP Girdhari Yadav for alleged anti-party activities, party sources said.
In July 2025, Mr. Yadav was issued a show-cause notice by the JD(U) for publicly criticising Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). The party said his comments contradicted its official position and caused embarrassment. The notice reiterated that the JD(U) has consistently supported the Election Commission of India and the use of EVMs.

“In this context, your public comments on such a sensitive matter, especially in an election year, not only cause embarrassment to the party but also inadvertently lend credibility to baseless and politically motivated allegations made by the Opposition,” the notice stated.
The party described Mr. Yadav’s conduct as a “lapse in discipline” and said his remarks were “not in consonance with the JD(U)’s stated position on the matter”.
