The Rajya Sabha on Wednesday (March 25, 2026) is set to take up the the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Amendment Bill, 2026, for consideration and passing. The bill was passed by the Lok Sabha yesterday by a voice vote amid an Opposition-led walkout.

The Centre on Wednesday (March 25, 2026), through MoS Home Affairs of India Nityanand Rai, introduced the bill to amend the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act. After a brief debate, Krishna Prasad Tenneti, who was in the chair, called for a vote on the motion, which was accepted by voice vote.
