March 24 (UPI) -- Egyptian striker Mohamed Salah will leave Liverpool at the end of the 2025-26 season, the English Premier League club announced Tuesday.

The Reds said they reached an agreement with Salah before his contract was set to expire in 2027. Salah, 33, sits in third place on the Reds' all-time scoring list, with 255 goals over 435 appearances.

"Leaving is never easy," Salah wrote in a statement. "You gave me the best time of my life. I will be always one of you. This club will always be my home to me and to my family.

"Thank you for everything. Because of all of you, I will never walk alone."
