March 23 (UPI) -- Kirsten Dunst has joined the cast of The Housemaid sequel.

Producers confirmed Monday that Dunst, 43, will star in the new film, titled The Housemaid's Secret.

Dunst joins Sydney Sweeney, who starred with Amanda Seyfried in the original 2025 film, The Housemaid. Michele Morrone will also return as the character Enzo, according to Deadline.

The Housemaid is a psychological thriller based on the Freida McFadden novel. The first film follows Millie (Sweeney), a young woman who becomes a live-in maid for a wealthy couple (Seyfried, Brandon Sklenar) with a dark secret.

Rebecca Sonnenshine and Paul Feig return to write and direct the sequel, respectively.
