The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday (March 23, 2026) hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for becoming India’s longest-serving head of government, surpassing the 8,930-day record earlier held by former Sikkim Chief Minister Pawan Chamling.
At a press conference, on the party’s behalf, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for India’s powerful representation in the changing global landscape, stating that Mr. Modi has taken the country to new heights.
“Narendra Modi ji is not just a leader, but also a visionary and an institution in himself, who has consistently worked for national interest both as the Chief Minister of Gujarat and as the Prime Minister of India,” he said.
