Former FBI Director Robert Mueller, who served as special counsel heading an investigation into Russia's interference in the 2016 presidential election, has died, the New York Times and MS NOW reported.
Mueller was 81 years old. He was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2021, his family told the New York Times in August. The news was first reported by MS NOW, which cited two anonymous sources familiar with the matter. The New York Times reported Mueller's family confirmed his death in a statement, but didn't specify a cause.
"Robert Mueller just died. Good, I’m glad he’s dead. He can no longer hurt innocent people!" President Donald J. Trump said on Truth Social.
This is a developing story that will be updated.
