Deputy Floor Leader of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in the Assembly and former minister T. Harish Rao has alleged that the Congress government is acting with political vengeance against the people of Siddipet assembly constituency as cancelling development works worth ₹1,070 crore is a clear indication.
In an open letter addressed to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Saturday, ahead of the latter’s visit to the constituency on Sunday, Mr. Rao said the Chief Minister had also shifted the veterinary college sanctioned to Siddipet to his Kodangal constituency. He demanded that the Chief Minister give back all ₹1,070 crore development works to Siddipet.
Speaking to mediapersons there, he said it was with the Kaleshwaram Project constructed by K. Chandrasekhar Rao government in the past that the oilpalm factory in the constituency had become a reality. He stated that a total of 22,819 farmers (52% in Siddipet constituency) who were eligible for the farm loan waiver scheme did not get the benefit - including 350 in Narmeta village, where the Chief Minister would be inaugurating the oilpalm factory.
The BRS leader alleged that not even one new scheme/benefit was sanctioned to Siddipet constituency during the last two years. He said all the facilities/programmes were sanctioned during the previous BRS rule, including allocation of funds and completion of construction. Mr. Revanth Reddy would have his name on the plaque while all the hard work was done by the previous government.
