RIYADH: Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman on Friday conveyed the greetings, praise and congratulations of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to the armed forces for their “heroic role” in defending the Kingdom and confronting what he described as unjustified Iranian aggression.

In a post on X, Prince Khalid said he was pleased to meet leaders and senior officials of the Ministry of Defense to mark Eid Al-Fitr, and to deliver the leadership’s appreciation.

“I was pleased to meet with the leaders and senior officials of the Ministry of Defense and congratulate them on Eid al-Fitr. I also conveyed the greetings and congratulations of the leadership — may God support them — and their praise for the heroic role of our armed forces in defending the homeland and confronting the unjustified Iranian aggression,” he wrote.

“I ask God to protect our homeland and grant us all success in defending it,” he added.

Earlier in the day, Prince Khalid performed Eid prayers at the Ministry’s headquarters in Riyadh alongside senior civilian and military officials, as well as officers and non-commissioned personnel of the armed forces.
