RIYADH: The Saudi aid agency KSrelief distributed food aid to thousands of people as Muslims worldwide perform Zakat Al-Fitr at the start of Eid.
On Thursday, KSrelief served 24,000 hot meals to displaced families in the Gaza Strip as part of the Saudi fundraising campaign for the Palestinian people, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The organization distributed 4,654 bags of rice across several Yemeni governorates which benefited 32,578 individuals from 4,654 vulnerable families.
In the country’s Al-Mukalla district, KSrelief distributed 191 bags of rice to 1,337 individuals.
With the end of Ramadan, worshippers are obliged to donate the equivalent of about three kilograms of staple food to the needy as part of Zakat Al-Fitr.
