A settler activist's calls to "wipe out" Palestinian villages were dismissed as legitimate speech, while Arab citizens face arrest for nonviolent political posts
In March 2023, Elisha Yered – a settler leader, former spokesperson for MK Limor Son Har-Melech, and someone previously suspected of killing a 19-year-old Palestinian (though never indicted) – posted on X that Huwara should be "wiped out, today." In another post around the same time, he wrote, "The Defense Minister should wake up and start acting. If necessary, he should wipe out not only Huwara but also the nearby villages."
