March 19 (UPI) -- Florida State kicker Conor McAneney was arrested in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., on felony charges, including battery on an officer, police said Thursday.

Fort Lauderdale police arrested McAneney on Wednesday. He was still in the Broward Sheriff's Office Main Jail as of Thursday morning.

A Fort Lauderdale Police Department spokesperson said McAneney was arrested about 2:30 a.m. EDT Wednesday "following a trespassing incident" on South Fort Lauderdale Beach Boulevard.

"While FLPD officers were attempting to detain McAneney, he became uncooperative and violent," the spokesperson said.

McAneney was transported to the Broward Health Medical Center as a precaution before being booked into the Broward Sheriff's Office Main Jail.
