March 19 (UPI) -- A limited series based on William Golding's lauded 1954 survival story, Lord of the Flies, and written by Adolescence Emmy-winner Jack Thorne, is to premiere in the United States on Netflix May 4.

"Innocence descends into savagery when a group of English schoolboys becomes desert island castaways in the first television adaptation of William Golding's landmark dystopian classic," a synopsis said.

The four-episode drama will feature music by Hans Zimmer and a cast that includes Winston Sawyers as Ralph, Lox Pratt as Jack, David McKenna as Piggy, and Ike Talbut as Simon.

Thomas Connor plays Roger; Noah, and Cassius Flemyng plays twins Sam and Eric; Cornelius Brandreth plays Maurice; and Tom Page-Turner plays Bill.

The series played last month on the BBC in the United Kingdom.
