Istat said Thursday that its House Price Index (HPI) increased by 0.9% in the fourth quarter of 2025 compared with the previous quarter and by 4.1% with respect to the last three months of 2024.
The national statistics agency said the year-on-year increase was entirely due to the prices of existing dwellings, which rose by 5.2%, while the prices of new homes fell 1.2% after rising 1.3% in the third quarter.
It said the number of houses to change hands rose by 0.4% in annual terms in the fourth quarter of 2025.
