Israeli films didn't win any Oscar awards this year; so, for Israelis, the big moment of Sunday night's Oscar award ceremony was when the Spanish actor Javier Bardem told the audience "No to war – and free Palestine," to applause in the hall. The Israeli film critic Avner Shavit saw the incident as evidence that the world has turned on Israel in unprecedented ways.
