March 18 (UPI) -- The Philadelphia Eagles agreed to acquire quarterback Andy Dalton through a trade with the Carolina Panthers, a league source told UPI on Wednesday.

The Eagles agreed to send the Panthers a seventh-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft in exchange for the 15-year veteran.

Dalton, 38, signed a two-year, $8 million contract extension with the Panthers last off-season. The three-time Pro Bowl selection completed 16 of 24 passes for 175 yards and a score in one start last season for the Panthers.

He threw one touchdown pass over his four total appearances in 2025.

He will enter an Eagles quarterbacks room with starter Jalen Hurts and backup Tanner McKee. The Panthers signed backup Kenny Pickett this off-season to serve as a backup to starter Bryce Young.
