Skip to Main ContentTulsi Gabbard Faces Senate Grilling Following Key Aide's ResignationDirector of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard is set to appear before the Senate Intelligence Committee on Wednesday morning, one day after her top aide, Joe Kent, resigned in protest over the war in Iran.Gabbard is expected to face questions over Kent's resignation letter in which he claimed that "Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby."But Gabbard will also be pressed on her own views on the conflict given her past statements, including a 2019 social media post in which she advocated against starting a war with Tehran."Join me in sending a strong message to President Trump: The US must NOT go to war with Iran," she wrote at the time.Gabbard is not the only U.S. intelligence official to testify before the Senate panel this morning.
