ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has suspended its flights to the UAE’s Fujairah city for the next 48 hours, the airline’s spokesperson said on Wednesday, as the security situation in the Gulf region worsens due to the ongoing Iran war.

The UAE has been one of the worst-hit countries in the Gulf region since the US-Israel war against Iran began last month, saying it has been the target of over 2,000 Iranian drones and missiles since the war began.

“Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has suspended its flights to Fujairah for the next 48 hours in view of the security situation in Gulf countries,” a spokesperson of the airline said in a statement.

He added that the PIA would continue its flights to Al Ain.

“For now, flights to the UAE will be operated only to Al Ain,” he added.
