KYIV/LONDON: Ukraine has sent more than 200 air-defense experts to the Middle East and Gulf region, Volodymyr Zelensky said on Tuesday.

The specialists have been sent at the request of partners, including the US, the Ukraine president said, as he addressed the British parliament ‌in ‌London.

Four years on from Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Kyiv has become a world leader in drone and anti-drone technologies, Reuters reported.

Britain, a close ally, wants to help ‌Ukraine use that position ‌to support countries in the Gulf which are under regular ‌attack from Iran, including from Shahed drones which Tehran has supplied to Moscow and have become one of Russia’s key weapons.

Zelensky said Ukraine is capable of producing around 2,000 interceptor drones a day, and can supply half ‌that amount ‌to its ‌allies to help bolster their defenses.
