The United States baseball team faces off against the Dominican Republic in the World Baseball Classic semifinals on Sunday night in Miami, a win-or-go-home clash that will decide a spot in the tournament's championship game.

Team USA went 3-1 in the first round but had to sweat out its fate, then proceeded to knock out Canada with a 5-3 win in the quarterfinal on Friday. The Dominican Republic is 5-0 at this WBC, going 4-0 in pool play before destroying South Korea 10-0 to advance to the final four.

NL Cy Young winner Paul Skenes will start for Team USA after tossing four scoreless innings with seven strikeouts in the Americans' win over Mexico. Right-hander Luis Severino takes the mound for the Dominican Republic. The Athletics' 32-year-old gave up one run in four innings with five strikeouts in his first start of the tournament.

The winner will face Venezuela or Italy in the final at loanDepot Park on Tuesday, March 17.
